The Western Pallet Association first began in 1974 and will celebrate its 50th anniversary at its upcoming annual meeting held January 12-16, 2024 in Rancho Mirage, California. The WPA meeting has developed a reputation as a friendly place to meet new contacts and develop a broader network, especially in the West. This year will be particularly memorable as the association recognizes people who have been integral in the association’s success. If you have never been, consider attending this year.
The event will be held at the Omni Rancho Las Palmas resort. Known for a fantastic annual golf tournament, pallet companies, lumber suppliers, machinery providers and more gather to connect, talk about the latest industry trends and listen to engaging speakers. This year the event is also adding a Texas No Limit Hold 'Em Poker Tournament. This is the first year for the poker tournament.
The speakers this year are focused on helping pallet companies weather a tougher economic environment and increased industry competition.
Dr. Bill Bellows will speak on lean manufacturing and production management philosophies from Dr. W. Edwards Deming. Bellows will focus on keys to reveal blind spots in your organization. Dr Jimmy Gandhi will speak on “The Why and How of Customer Retention in Challenging Economic Times.” He will cover best practices for customer retention and understanding your customer’s pain points.
Pallet industry veteran, Guy Gruenberg, formerly of Rose Pallet, will speak on “How to Survive and Thrive in Tough Economic Times.” Finally, Chaille Brindley, the editor of Pallet Enterprise magazine, will close out the speaker lineup. He will speak on “Upside Down, Rightside Up Markets.” He will look at the changing competitive landscape in the U.S. pallet sector from technology to markets to customer expectations. He will outline strategies will help you compete better for customers and workers in a tough economic environment.
