Virginia Tech professor Paul Winistorfer has been elected president of the Forest Products Society. Paul, chairman of the Virginia Tech department of wood science and forest products, has held a number of different positions in the society since becoming a member in 1976.
Virginia Tech professor emeritus Wolfgang Glasser will be a visiting scientist for eight months at the Weyerhaeuser Technology Center in Tacoma, Wash. He will help Weyerhaeuser research new chemical-based technology for modifying wood and wood fiber.
The Virginia Tech Center for Forest Products Marketing and Management appointed Clare Foster as communications and marketing manager. Her duties will include maintaining communications with center members.
