Sybil Bohnett Served Viking and Its Customers with Her Life

Viking Engineering wants to recognize and honor Sybil Bohnett, a long time Viking employee who passed away on February 9, 2012, after 31 years of serving at Viking. Industrial Reporting wants to join with our friends at Viking to tell the industry about Sybil and what she meant to so many in our industry. All of us are saddened by our loss.

Sybil dedicated 31 years of commitment to both Viking Engineering and its customers. Sybil started working for Viking in 1981 as a receptionist; simultaneously she was going to school to earn her marketing degree. Years later she moved into sales and marketing where she worked as a coordinator for Viking’s sales staff. She was involved in sales, research, marketing, and development. She organized trade shows, magazine ads, and was in constant communication with her customers helping them in any way she could.

Sybil is survived by her husband, Marvin, and her two twin daughters, Michelle and Danielle. Sybil treasured her family and her church. She was particularly proud of her girls and all they have accomplished. Sybil thoroughly enjoyed attending church events with her family. She had many talents, including singing, making cards and teaching kids at Sunday School.

Sybil is particularly remembered for the many cards she handmade for birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays for everyone she knew. If your birthday landed on a workday, she would sing happy birthday to you over the intercom. She was a kind and wonderful woman and will be sorely missed by all of her friends at Viking. Many customers will remember the friendly person who helped them over the phone. Many people at Viking have kept her   personalized special cards. It is not often when somebody takes the time to show they really care. Her creativity and dedication were appreciated by her friends.
