WIKUS Saw Technology Corp. has introduced a new blade for pallet bandsaw dismantling machines. The company’s bimetal band blade is called the 34 Special.
The WIKUS 34 Special is 1-3/8-inches by 0.042-inch. It features a high-speed tooth tip in a 5-8 variable tooth pitch that provides excellent cutting of nails to disassemble pallets with a bandsaw machine. Blade stock is manufactured in Germany and welded to length at two facilities in the U.S.
The WIKUS 34 Special is priced economically in order to reduce the cost per cut for pallet recyclers.
“In the pallet recycling business, we know it takes a special caliber blade to target in on performance and profitability,” said Mike Masters, WIKUS chief technology officer. WIKUS developed a blade solution for effective pallet dismantling and also to lower costs for recyclers. “Using less blades results in less time changing blades, allowing for more pallets through the saw,” added Masters.
