Too many pallet companies still manage their business systems with spreadsheets and paper files.
Increasingly, companies of all sizes are moving to automated, computerized records. Pallet companies that don’t have this data will be guessing in the dark while their competition is using software to better serve customers, optimize processes and reduce duplicate paperwork.
One of the newest entrants into the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) market for pallet companies is Pallet Insights by Helioz Technologies. This is a cloud-based solution developed from the ground up with pallet operations in mind. Pallet Insights is designed to work with any business size, as it can be integrated with legacy systems or can be a full ERP with everything run from inside Pallet Insights as the standalone solution. All data is stored securely on Amazon Web Service servers and is very reliable.
Pallet Insights is a full ERP system covering everything from sales orders, production, dispatching, billing, customer service and more. Pallet Insights integrates accounting, ERP, payroll, and CRM systems –including QuickBooks®, Microsoft® Dynamics NAV, Sage®, Paycom®, e4score™ EZTrack®, and any others with an available API.
Key functions such as order management, inventory tracking, supplier management, and financial management are all integrated into a common user-friendly interface. This results in increased operational efficiency, reduced costs, and improved customer satisfaction. Pallet Insights’ scalability ensures it can grow with a business, making it an indispensable tool for any company in the pallet industry seeking to stay competitive and thrive in a dynamic market.
Antonio Brkic, chief product officer for Pallet Insights, said, “Pallet Insights is a centralized system that can integrate with any other system with an API and if our Customer needs something that needs to be pulled from another system or pushed to that system, it’s not a problem.”
As an example, the system was developed and tailored to serve the needs of Pallet Logistics of America (PLA), one of the largest pallet recyclers in the country.
After success with PLA, Helioz saw an opportunity to provide another cloud-based system on the market. As an independent company not associated with any pallet company, Helioz is marketing this solution to the entire pallet industry.
Rob Zesch, founder and CEO of Helioz, commented, “We are adding new features according to industry needs, but we also offer options to create customization for our clients.”.
Having worked closely with PLA the recycler understands the capabilities of the Helioz team. Brad Cutcher, chief operating officer (COO) of PLA, stated, “Pallet Insights enables Pallet Logistics of America to achieve a new level of efficiency in running our operation. The Helioz team provides awesome customer service and is adding capabilities to help us better serve our customers.”
Key features include dashboards with major production metrics, custom sales parameters and SKU sizes, custom user settings, electronic delivery confirmation, detailed analytics, easy-to-use interface, forklift and driver portals to facilitate plant floor and delivery communication, and easy trailer grading process for incoming cores.
Brkic explained, “Pallet Insights can work on any computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone device. It is designed to provide full visibility in your operations, and everything happens in real time.”
Some very cool features, the software includes a digital grade sheet that allows the forklift driver to enter counts by the item number or grade code for incoming pallet collections. Brkic added, “This feature saves a lot of time because it eliminates the paper trail created in many traditional pallet operations.”
Another very cool feature is Pallet Insights’ use of QR codes to facilitate transactions, processing and order tracking. The system can generate QR codes for each order which are used in tracking and interacting with each load.
Each customer has access to its data through a customer portal to track orders. It covers information, such as quantities, location, order size/items, pickup requests, approval/rejection of loads, detailed order history, etc.
One of the biggest reasons to go digital in recordkeeping is the ability to turn information into transformation. Pallet Insights offer a wide variety of reports on shipments, collections, activity, production, dispatching and more. The newest module in development now includes lumber management.
Why automate data management? Eliminate duplicate data entry and lost paperwork, optimize fleet requirements, and improve process visibility and team communication.
