The Railway Tie Association will hold its annual meeting on October 12-14 at the Hilton Branson Convention Center in Branson, Missouri. Any reader who has not had the opportunity to visit Branson has missed out on an excellent entertainment opportunity.
Optional social activities on Wednesday the 12th include a fully guided fly fishing adventure on a trout stream, the RTA golf tournament, and a trap shooting adventure and tournament.
This year’s program is packed with action. It opens with a special focus on the economy. Other sessions include: three presentations on the hardwood market, three legislation presentations, a significant engineering session, an RTA wood preservative research session, and a closing session on class one railroad purchasing. Vendors will have two opportunities to make short presentations on their products and services.
Spouses will enjoy a presentation by Hilton chefs who will take attendees through the ingredient selection, preparation, construction, plating, and serving of memorable hors d’oeuvres from railroad dining cars (circa 1900).
