Pendu Manufacturing Inc., which supplies machinery to the sawmill and pallet industries, is acquiring another machinery supplier, Cornell Industrial. Both companies are based in
The owners of Cornell, Kay Wilson and Daryl Miller, will remain with the new combined business, most likely with expanded sales and marketing responsibilities.
Pendu manufactures and sells equipment in the pallet, log home and dimensional lumber markets and also has
extensive experience in building custom application machinery. Cornell is a 100-year-old manufacturer of pallet and saw mill equipment.
The acquisition is a ‘natural’ given that both companies are in similar markets but not necessarily competing fields, said Marlin. The move gives Pendu access to a popular line of saw mill machinery products while combining the personnel and resources of both companies to form a team that can provide a wider variety of creativity in products to serve the wood industries. By utilizing the combined 155,000 square feet of manufacturing facilities, Pendu plans to improve its response time to the wood industry’s needs.
There are no immediate plans to eliminate positions at either company, including all sales, service and parts personnel, Marlin indicated. In fact, he plans to expand the Cornell facility.
Cornell customers may call Marlin at (800) 233-0471 if they have any concerns about the future of the Cornell product line and ongoing support of their equipment.
