Pendu Manufacturing Inc. has developed a vertical cant sizer that works while the cant is on its side. Equipped with an Econotool cutter head and powered by a 30 hp electric motor, this innovative machine is capable of removing up to 1 inch of material from the side of the cant. It is specially designed to be placed in-line ahead of a band saw, eliminating the need for the cant to be turned after it is sized.
The Pendu cant sizer features a chain bed with side powered rolls and a hydraulic width adjustment that is adjustable from 3 3/4 inches to 6 inches. The feed system is powered by either electric or hydraulic drive and is capable or processing cants up to 100 feet per minute.
