Pallet industry veteran Douglas “Jake” William Jacobson passed away August 9, 2017 after a battle with cancer. For years he worked as a key member of the management team at Tasler Inc., in Webster City, Iowa.
“Doug Jacobson will be remembered at Tasler, Inc. for his strong work ethic, kindness, sense of humor and joy of life. We feel very fortunate that Doug was part of our company for almost 21 years. He will be greatly missed.” Greg Tasler, president of Tasler, Inc.
Doug Jacobson began his career at Tasler in 1996 as second shift supervisor, and for the past 15 years he was the plant manager.
“Jake’s tenure with Tasler, Inc. was instrumental in our company’s growth and stability. I will miss our relationship as both a co-worker and a friend,” commented, Brent Johnson, controller for Tasler.
DeeAnn Otto, logistics for Tasler, remembered, “Jake had a huge smile. Always had hunting and fishing stores to tell and loved to hear other people’s stories! Truly put the customer first! The kind of person that you knew exactly where you stood with him.”
Other co-workers described him as steady presence who put the focus on the customer and commented that he kept the big picture in mind.
An avid sportsman, Doug loved to be outdoors and spent lots of time hunting and fishing. Doug is survived by his wife Stacie Jacobson of Webster City; his step daughters, Miranda Sliefert and their sons, Jaxson and Bryson of Sac City and Katelyn Ryan of Lake View; his parents, Lowell and Sandra Jacobson of Jewell; his sister, Tracy Bell of Jewell and their children.
