Morbark System Uses Dry Mulch Colorant

Morbark has introduced a new mulch coloring technology that utilizes a dry colorant. The new system, which replaces liquid dyes with a powder, provides several advantages, according to Morbark.

The new Morbark Dry Colorant Processing System produces a premium colored mulch at significantly reduced cost, and it impregnates pigment deeply into the wood fiber for long lasting color. The powdered colorant is easier to use and causes less mess.

Morbark tub grinders can be retrofitted with an inexpensive dispenser attachment to make them capable of producing colored mulch with the new system.

The Morbark Dry Colorant Processing System automatically meters and applies the colorant in the discharge area of the grinder during a primary grind. Finished mulch may be processed immediately or stockpiled. During a final grind, water is added in the grinder, and the hammermill action drives the pigment deeply into the wood.

First WizTech System Sold to Md. Recycler

Wizard Technologies announced the sale of its first WizTech system for coloring mulch. The system was purchased by Miller Recycling Inc. in Westminster, Md. through Lyons Equipment.

“Its easy to handle and maintenance-free,” said Rich Jennings, maintenance supervisor for Miller Recycling. “We can get to all the working parts easily.”

Develops Saw Brake

Industrial Resources of Michigan has developed a new brake system for its bandsaw dismantlers. It is also available as an aftermarket kit to retrofit Wolverine and Rapid Cut II bandsaw dismantlers.

The dismantler operator activates the brake by leaning against a safety bar, which depresses the e-stop button and engages the brake. The brake can stop a bandsaw traveling 4,800 feet per minute on the Rapid Cut II in less than one second, according to Industrial Resources.

Rehrig Pacific Offers Nestable Plastic Pallet

Rehrig Pacific Co., a leading manufacturer of industrial plastic pallets and containers, has introduced the new 40×48 HuskyLite nestable plastic pallet for grocery and retail distribution supply chain applications.

The impact strength of Rehrig Pacifics co-polymer polypropylene resin process exceeds most HDPE resins found in twin-sheet thermoformed nestable pallets, according to the company. And its Box Beam design gives the nestable pallet stiffness and stronger welds.

“Through injection molding we are able to reinforce specific areas of the pallet that receive the most abuse over the long haul,” said Sean Inglis, national sales manager of the companys plastic pallet group. “This results in a nestable plastic pallet that will be serviceable for many years to come.”

The new pallet incorporates several design improvements, including multiple ergonomic handles, a more effective perimeter deck lip, and leg grommets designed to take heavy leads without caving.
