Kent Develops Two New Trim Saws

Among the many machines in the Kent Corporation booth at the Midwest Forest Industry Show were two new trim saws. These saws were part of Kent’s revamped trim saw line. The new line includes the low-priced Trim-it for trimming back stringers and boards. At the other end of the scale is the large, new multi-head KC16 trim saw.

The new Kent Trim-it, priced at $5,000, attracted a lot of interest and orders at the show, according to Kent Corp. It uses a new design for trimming back stringers and boards. The heavy-built Trim-it uses four #60 chains and a fully variable-speed drive to feed material through either a 10-inch or 12-inch blade. The unique feed system includes a two-piece guard that also serves as a hold-down and anti-kick device.

Kent also introduced the new Kent KC16 trim saw. This large, heavy-duty trim saw handles the toughest jobs. It is available with two to five heads. Each head comes standard with a 7.5 hp motor, and other motor options are available. The feed system uses a heavy #80 chain and is built on an incline.
