As pallet core quality continues to be a challenge, smart pallet companies are moving toward producing more remanufactured pallets from recycled lumber. The lack of uniformity has made this challenging for many pallet companies. That’s where the Master Recycler pallet nailing system, designed and built by Hawkeye Welding & Manufacturing, has solved a problem in the market. And a recent upgrade has made it even better.
Hawkeye Welding & Manufacturing has made a game-changer update on its Master Recycler system. The machine is now available with a self-flipper. This upgrade significantly reduces the cycle time along with requiring less operator effort. With the flipper it frees up the operator to sort and select his top deck boards while the machine is flipping the pallet bottom to top. This option also leans out the built process by eliminating several steps for the operator, once he loads the stringers into rails he does not have to return to the rear of the machine till the next pallet.
The Master Recycler’s unique hold-down system was conceived, designed, and built in Iowa. This system allows for reclaimed random width, random heights/thickness boards to be nailed over recycled stringers. This is accomplished without any input from the operator, simply lay out the boards and the machine holds them down and nails at the correct spacing.
The machine is also a simple design that allows for any maintenance or operational issues to be handled at the operator level, the good old keep it simple stupid method of reliability and proven productivity.
Del Wagner, who sells the machine for Hawkeye through Midwest Machinery & Automation, said, “Hawkeye is proud to further innovate this machine to improve production to a higher level. This flipper upgrade makes the Master Recycler the most efficient, cost effective “World Class” recycled / combo pallet assembly machine available. All of these machines are design and built in U.S.A. with American steel. For more information please contact Del or Wayne Wagner at Midwest Machinery & Automation, call 217-621-2133 or 217-621-0555.
