Cresswood Recycling Systems’ hopper feed grinders provide a ‘dump and go’ approach for companies that generate wood waste and scrap in multiple areas in a plant or mill. The wood can be moved into the hopper by forklift or automated dump systems from different areas of the plant. The ‘dump and go’ system reduces labor costs since a dedicated employee is not essential to run the system.
Cresswood offers six models in its hopper feed Destroyer wood grinder series. They range in size and power from the model HF-36A, with a 36-inch by 53-inch cutting chamber and 30 or 40 hp motor to the HF-70A, which has a 70-inch by 78-inch cutting chamber and can be powered by a motor with 100, 125 or 150 hp.
Cresswood designed the model HF-70A Mega Destroyer grinder for companies with large volume and-or large sized wood scrap to grind. Applications include grinding for pallet manufacturing and recycling operations, sawmills, lumber remanufacturing, and other forest products businesses, such as furniture and cabinet manufacturers.
The Cresswood HF-70A Mega Destroyer is the largest in Cresswood’s Destroyer line of low-speed grinders at more than 23,000 pounds. The heavy-duty grinder features a 1-inch steel frame (reinforced with heavy steel channels), a machined metal floor, a machined 15-inch ram, a 60-inch ram stroke and a 20-inch grinding head diameter. The HF-70 Mega-Destroyer also is equipped with Cresswood’s RamTrack™ guide system.
The HF-70 Mega Destroyer has indexable cutting teeth that may be used from 350 to 500 hours before being turned over, and they may be ‘flipped’ four times.
Cresswood provides custom design and manufacturing to build each grinder for its specific application.
