Brewer, long known for its lumber manufacturing machinery, has a new innovative machine called the Board Conditioner. This three-way machine can provide three different lumber processing functions for a pallet plant or sawmill. It can chamfer decking, edge boards, and plane lumber.
The three functions require different cutting tools. Brewer has designed its Board Conditioner for quick changeover of the cutting head. For chamfering the Board Conditioner uses an eight wing carbide cutter from either Econotool or Profile Technology.
The board edger function, illustrated in this release, uses carbide indexable hogging cutters that convert the edging into useable wood fiber instead of wood strips. This edger can convert a 5-1/2” #2 cull board into a 3-1/2” #1 higher value premium board.
The planer head function can use either an indexable style planer head or a Brewer six-knife high speed steel cutter head.
Brewer has its first Board Conditioner in the field and is excited about the potential that this machine offers its customer base.
