Since the spring of 1977, when I started our market report, known now as the Pallet Profile Weekly and then as the Wooden Pallet Index, I have thoroughly enjoyed working with my friends in the wooden pallet industry. Over time our staff has expanded and devoted itself to serving our pallet friends. Many readers have come to know some of our staff, but I believe you should know more about the people who are dedicated to providing you with the top quality educational material about the wooden pallet industry. It has been a true pleasure making friends in our industry around North America and the rest of the world.
In December 1981 we started the bimonthly magazine called the Pallet Enterprise. As we expanded into the 1980s, the Enterprise expanded to include a Buyer’s Guide, and then two issues a quarter, and finally became a monthly magazine. Early in the 2000s we started our recycling report called the Recycle Record. In December 1994 we started publishing the TimberLine, a monthly magazine for the forest products industry. It focuses on the sawmilling and logging industries, as well as derivative industries such as firewood and portable sawmilling. All of our publications focus on top quality editorial coverage of the forest products industry to help our readers become more knowledgeable of the overall industry and, in particular, to run a more efficient wood products company.
In order to provide the service and industry knowledge required to produce the top-quality publications that we strive to publish, we have worked to build the best overall staff. It is my pleasure to provide snapshot overviews of the fine staff that serves our readers with the best publications we can.
Ed Brindley, Ph.D. – Founder of Industrial Reporting and all of our products
I have been a fortunate man because my family grew up to take positions working alongside me to serve our readers. I have been fortunate that my wife Carolyn and two sons Scott and Chaille have developed different talents that have fit our friends in the forest products industry. Carolyn works part-time with accounts receivable and payable. She sends out our invoices and deposits all of the incoming checks and charges.
As a statistician, I still work regularly on our special reports, surveys and the Pallet Profile Weekly. I work with our staff to develop the weekly market report, conduct analysis on data that we have received and discuss market changes to ensure we stay on top of the latest developments. If you do not talk with our Profile or Recycle Record staff, you are missing out on an opportunity to shape these market reports and ensure that your voice is heard. Many in the industry and customers use our reports as a barometer to measure what is going on from a pricing, availability and supply standpoint. I would love to hear from both subscribers and non-subscribers about what they see going on in the industry. Feel free to email me at edb@ireporting.comor call 804-550-0323. Also, please complete the data survey at least every month at www.palletprofile.com/survey.
Scott Brindley – Vice President of Sales
Scott is the longest tenured employee besides me and my wife. He is familiar to many of our advertisers as the persistent, friendly voice on the phone.
Scott is a very capable businessman with a degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in small business administration. He has one of the best business instincts I have ever seen. Scott covers many of our business responsibilities. Specifically, he handles most of our pallet industry advertising accounts for the Pallet Enterprise and makes many market contacts for the Pallet Profile across the Southern and Western parts of the countries. Scott has become a football coach in a local community league as well as a business owner with a company that puts on the sound and lighting for concerts by many well-known musicians from across the country. Scott married Melissa who became not only a great daughter-in-law who gave us four grandchildren, but also a part-time employee who handles our accounts payable and many of our business responsibilities. She has taken a lot of the business pressures off of my plate to allow me to more easily move into semi-retirement.
If you want to find out how to market to the pallet and low-grade lumber sector, Scott can help you develop a marketing and sales plan that utilizes our products. He also knows a lot about the various equipment suppliers, trade shows and even the lumber business. Scott can be reached at scott@palletenterprise.com or 804-550-0323.
Chaille Brindley – Vice President of Operations/Publisher
Our younger son Chaille has become well known by many people in the pallet industry because he handles most of our pallet industry editorial responsibilities in the Pallet Enterprise, Pallet Profile, and Recycle Record. This has taken a large portion of the pressure off of me so that I can work a more practical number of hours as I become partially retired. Chaille graduated with honors from the University of Missouri, the top ranked journalism school in the country. In addition to being recognized across the pallet industry for his knowledge and writing, Chaille has become a respected speaker at a number of forest products industry events. Chaille focuses a tremendous amount of time on ministry efforts, including discipling and mentoring other believers and missions around the world. He has a master’s degree in Old Testament theology and is moving for a period of time to Steamboat, Colorado to continue his editorial responsibilities with us and conduct spiritual discipleship opportunities in the largest church in Steamboat.
Chaille always says to think of our editorial staff as your best, free research department. He is always looking for ideas to improve our editorial products, and you can unleash our team’s research capabilities for your project by contacting him. If he likes your idea, he may use it to work on an article or series. Chaille also heads up our consulting division that conducts research and works with companies and people who want to learn more about the pallet industry. Contact Chaille at 804-833-6545 or email chailleb@gmail.com.
Rick Henretty – Market Analyst for Pallet Profile and Recycle Record
When Jeff McBee, who oversaw the Pallet Profile and Recycle Record passed away about two years ago, we had a huge hole in our staff. Jeff was loved by both our employees and the industry he served. Early in 2016, Rick Henretty joined our staff to take over some of our market contacts and gradually work into writing many of our market reports and some editorial for the Enterprise. Rick is an accomplished musician who attended both Christopher Newport and Virginia Commonwealth University majoring in music. He toured on the road with several bands. Rick has played with a wide variety of church praise and worship teams. He attended a Microsoft training program as he developed an extensive background in computers and information technology. Rick became an experienced jeweler as he apprenticed for two years under a master jeweler. Rick has made the solid gold pallet jewelry line that we have sold over the years. Rick is working out well and is making his niche with our staff and the pallet industry.

Christopher Edwards – Graphics & Layout
Chris Edwards joined our staff in August 1995 after his wife Michelle left and moved on to a new position. Chris graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in sociology. He is a steady, established member of our staff who designs all of our publications. He is familiar to many advertisers because he has probably helped you with an ad or promotional piece through the years. Chris understands the industry, and he is a great resource to advertisers when it comes to developing ads and laying out campaigns. One of the services we offer is free layout and design for advertisements and content that run in our publications. This is something you might pay thousands of dollars for if you were to work with a design or marketing agency.
If your ad has been the same for a while, consider calling Chris and discussing some options for changing your advertisement. It is good to rotate new ads or campaigns from time to time.
