Interpal, Cruise Planned for 2005 in Canada

The sixth Interpal-World Pallet Congress, a gathering of pallet industry representatives from around the world, will be held Aug. 30-Sept. 2, 2005 in Victoria, British Columbia. The event is being organized and hosted by the Canadian Wood Pallet and Container Association (CWPCA-ACMPC).

The CWPCA-ACMPC is organizing an optional Alaskan cruise following the conference. The seven-day cruise aboard the Coral Princess will depart Sept. 3 from Vancouver. (Delegates participating in the cruise will be transported to Vancouver via ferry.) The ports of call will be Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Anchorage, and the group will return to Vancouver by charter on Sept. 10.

More than 600 delegates representing 30 countries are expected to attend Interpal, according to Gordon Hughes, general manager of the CWPCA-ACMPC.

Interpal will kick off with opening ceremonies and meeting of the World Pallet Council. The second day of the conference will feature educational sessions and a program for spouses. Day three will include a trade show with presentations and demonstrations, and the final day will include pallet plant and sawmill tours.
