With the recent growth in home improvement products, colored mulch has become a very popular way for homeowners to improve value, curb appeal and the appearance of their property. Consequently, colored mulch can significantly increase the value of your wood waste and residuals from your pallet and sawmill operations.
ChromaScape, a leader in colorant technology, has introduced a new mulch coloring system, the Amerimulch ColorTrom 400. It is a high-production system featuring computer controls that minimize water usage, horsepower and maintenance to increase profitability.
The ColorTrom 400, with a 20 cubic yard feed hopper, can produce in excess of 400 cubic yards of colored mulch per hour. It uses the lowest horsepower per cubic yard, according to the company, which means it saves on energy consumption. The ColorTrom 400 can produce over 400 yards using 50% of the horsepower compared to other models thanks to its low-friction, low-wear design.
A high-pressure colorant delivery system provides constant flow during the coloring process for an evenly coated, superior colored mulch product. Yet, the ColorTrom 400 uses up to 50% less water than other systems, according to ChromaScape, in part due to a unique colorant and water delivery system.
Computerized controls provide accurate production with ChromaScape’s Marksman technology. The operator simply programs inputs for production, water and colorant application rates. The system activates the colorant and water pump only when wood fiber is present for efficient, optimal coloring. The Marksman technology measures production rates in real time using ultrasonic sensors and rotary encoders to automatically adjust flow rates for variances to ensure consistent, per-yard colorant cost.
The Marksman technology not only increases color consistency for the finished product, it requires less time to train employees. The system also stores historical data for key production parameters per batch, with production reports created daily for better visibility and control over your business.
The ColorTrom 400 was designed with fewer internal wear parts than other machines, which reduces maintenance, downtime and service costs. There are no spray nozzles to unclog, no internal shafts or paddles to wear and replace.
The ColorTrom 400 is ideal for companies that want to develop more value out of their waste stream while keeping environmental impacts to a minimum. ChromaScape machinery and colorants are a green solution to eliminate landfill waste and give your company an edge.
