Much is happening these days in the Canadian Wood Pallet and Container Association. Earlier this year the organization released Bill Eggertson as its general manager; it is currently searching for his replacement. The search team has reportedly had a number of resumes for his position. If a new general manager of the association is selected by the upcoming meeting on April 29, then this meeting will be the first chance for most members of the CWPCA to meet their new leader.
The annual meeting of the CWPCA will be held at the Hilton Hotel & Suites in Niagara Falls, Ontario. After the board of directors meets on Sunday, April 28, there will be an opening reception on Sunday evening at 6:30 at the Chateau des Charmes Winery, including a tour, tasting and dinner. Transportation will be provided to and from the hotel.
The 46th annual meeting of the CWPCA will be the first opportunity for the membership to meet and hear a presentation from Brent McLendan, the new president of the National Wooden Pallet and Container Association.
The official meeting will start at 7:30 on Monday the 29th with breakfast. In addition to Brent McLendan’s presentation, the program will include a lumber presentation from Mike Nikkel of Tembec, an economy speech from Mezan Issa of TD Securities, and a presentation by Marc Michielsen and Rob van Hoesel of FEFPEB.
